5 year position as senior researcher

The National PET Centre is seeking for a SENIOR RESEARCHER. The duties include
  • development of modelling and analysis of brain PET studies,
  • independent research,
  • supervision of theses,
  • participation in teaching and education,
  • international collaboration.
We require at least a doctoral degree. We appreciate associate / adjunct professorship (docent degree), experience and successful conduct of independent research work and international contacts. Also experience of PET- and MRI-investigations and modeling of brain PET studies are considered as an advantage.
Duration of the post is 5 years. Salary is based on the salary system for universities which is followed by University of Turku, in which the salary is based on the job requirement factors and on personal work performance. For a senior researcher job requirement level 7 and personal work performance level 2-6 = 3972 – 4897 Euros / month.

XIII Turku PET Symposium

XIII Turku PET Symposium, in conjunction with the symposia of Nordic Association for Clinical Physics (NACP) and Scandinavian Society of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine (SSCPNM), will be organized on 24-27 May 2014 in Turku, Finland.

This educational event has a tradition of over 30 years and is targeted to all investigators and staff working with cyclotrons, PET radiochemistry, modelling and software development, as well as preclinical and clinical PET imaging.

For researchers interested in image analysis in the field of positron emission tomography, Andrew Crabb will organize a hands-on course, teaching participants to analyze PET studies using free and open source tools.
